The Schoolhouse Learning Center seeks a Lead Preschool Teacher for the older preschool classrooms  (ages 3.8 to 5) in our nature and play-based preschool program. Candidates enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors in all weather, hiking, exploring, and teaching children about the natural world. They will lead a team of classroom teachers in planning and implementing a VELS-aligned social-justice focused preschool curriculum. 

This candidate will also spend about ten hours per week working administratively on a leadership team as co-director of the preschool, overseeing enrollment, hiring, scheduling, etc. to support the day-to-day operations of the program, as well as to nurture its long-term success. 

This is a wonderful position for an experienced preschool teacher looking for an opportunity to grow into leadership opportunities while working with young children in a progressive school with a long track record of success.

This position is full-year, 30 to 40 hours a week, starting December 12, 2022.
 
Job Qualifications:
• Five years experience working as a licensed Vermont Early Educator preferred. Administrative experience preferred.
• BA in early childhood education or in a science/nature related field with some education credits preferred. 
•Teachers must attend 15 hours of professional development training in early childhood education each year, and have certification in First Aid/CPR.
